Tilitonse Foundation has been granted an opportunity to develop a ‘Shift the Power Programme’ for Malawi which will be funded by Comic Relief and UK Aid (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office). The Shift the Power programme is a transformative, long-term civil society strengthening programme which will be people led and people centred. It will invest in the organisational strengthening of civil society organisations in Malawi, Ghana and Zambia, including facilitating greater diversification in their income models.
The overall aim of the programme is to ensure that locally led civil society organisations are invested in, in order that they can then address the needs, concerns and aspirations of people living in poverty. In order to facilitate the development of this programme, the Tilitonse Foundation has organized a number of activities targeting various stakeholders. In rolling out these activities, the Foundation has organized consultative workshops in the 3 regions of the country with the first one taking place on Wednesday 8 June, 2022 in Blantyre.
